Volunteers!

Food Bank is a volunteer service that exists to provide food parcels, emergency hot meals, and food wellness education on the Brantford and Waterloo campuses. The committee operates as an essential service focused on the food insecurity of undergraduate students.

What You'll Do

Promote the service and any events that Food Bank executes for the Laurier community

Attend regular parcel packing hours that work around your class schedule during evening hours

Attend boothing events when scheduled

Submit shifting availability to the Executive in a timely manner

Time Commitment

Coordinators: no more than 20 hours per week

Executives: 10 hours per week

General Members: 5 hours per week

- The coordinator is responsible for ensuring Food Bank is running appropriate programming throughout the year and liaising with Students’ Union staff to facilitate these events.
- Honorarium of $500 per term for Fall and Winter
Executive Positions - full job description can be found here
- Food Bank Executives are expected to help with the operation of the service during regular shifting times.
  The executive position has five roles with different responsibilities as outlined down below:
- Volunteer Liaison
  - The Volunteer Liaison is responsible for communication with general members and being their first point of
    contact.
- Marketing Executive
  - The Marketing Executive is responsible for coordinating in-person marketing efforts and promotion of Food Bank events.
- Events Executive
  - The Events Executive is responsible for organizing volunteers and ensuring Food Bank has spaces and vendors booked for events.
- Training Executive
  - The Training Executive is responsible for ensuring all committee volunteers are trained and have the appropriate resources needed for their roles.
- Operations Executive
  - The Operations Executive is responsible for ensuring the organization of committee resources and efficient service operations.
