Orientation Team

Orientation is one of the biggest and most exciting traditions at Laurier and we're looking for passionate student leaders to help bring it to life.

As a member of the Orientation Team, you'll play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience for incoming students. From supporting major events and mentoring volunteers to solving challenges on the fly and bringing positive energy to campus, you'll help shape the first chapter of thousands of Golden Hawks' university journeys.

Lead by example and represent Laurier with enthusiasm.

Support the planning and delivery of Orientation events.

Mentor and assist Icebreaker volunteers.

Help coordinate event logistics, setup, and operations.

Welcome and support incoming students from all backgrounds.

Promote an inclusive, respectful, and positive environment.

Answer questions and connect students with helpful campus resources.

Collaborate with fellow volunteers to solve problems and keep events running smoothly.

Bring energy, school spirit, and encouragement to every event.

Head Icebreaker
- The Head Icebreaker is responsible for leading a group of Icebreakers and with the facilitation of Orientation events.
Volunteer Liaison
- The Volunteer Liaison is responsible for the communication between the Associate Vice President:
  Programming & Services Waterloo, Orientation Team Executive, and Icebreakers and Go-Team Members.
Logistics Executive
- The Logistics Executive is responsible for the organization of Orientation volunteers for the duration of
  Orientation.
Marketing Executive
- The Marketing Executive is responsible for capturing Orientation content and the promotion of Orientation
  events.
Go-Team Lead
- The Go-Team Lead is responsible for leading a group of Go-Team members in the facilitation of Orientation
  events.
Shinerama Events Executive
- The Shinerama Events Executive is responsible for the facilitation of large-scale Shinerama programming
  during Orientation
Shinerama Operations Executive
- The Shinerama Operations Executive is responsible for Shinerama operations during Orientation.

Head Icebreaker
- The Head Icebreaker is responsible for leading a group of Icebreakers and with the facilitation of Orientation events.
Logistics: Operations & Coordination Executive
- The Logistics: Operations & Coordination Executive is responsible for the organization of Orientation assets,
  the coordination of volunteer scheduling, and the effective communication of any event or scheduling changes.
Logistics: Dining & Registration Executive
- The Logistics: Dining & Registration Executive is responsible for the organization of event registration and
  dining during Orientation. This role is typically held by the Food Bank Coordinator.
Go Executive
- The Go Executive is responsible for the communication between the Associate Vice President: Programming & Services Brantford, Orientation Team Executive, and Icebreakers.
Shinerama Executive
- The Shinerama Executive is responsible for the facilitation of large-scale Shinerama programming during
  Orientation. This role is typically held by the Shinerama Coordinator.
Activities Executive
- The Activities Executive is responsible for assisting the Associate Vice President: Programming & Services
  Brantford in overseeing and delegating tasks associated with Orientation programming. This role is typically held by the Hawk Team Coordinator.
Marketing Executive
- The Marketing Executive is responsible for capturing Orientation content and the promotion of Orientation
  events.
