We're Hiring: Acting Director, Marketing Communications

SUMMARY: The Marketing Communications department works with members in all other Students’ Union departments to ensure that the Students’ Union is accessible, and provides a voice for all students. Reporting to the Executive Director & COO, the Acting Director, Marketing Communications will be accountable for all marketing communication strategies and community partnerships for the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union. The Marketing Department is a collaborative unit, and thus the incumbent must be a team player, who is flexible and adaptive to meet the needs of the department and the organization. The Acting Director, Marketing Communications directly supervises and supports both the Brand Identity Manager, as well as the Promotions Manager. The incumbent will be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, be extremely well organized, detail oriented, have strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management skills in order for the job duties listed below to be achieved.

POSITION TITLE: Acting Director, Marketing Communications

POSITION LEVEL: Full-time, contract (22 month Maternity Leave coverage from July 2023 to April 30th 2025)

SALARY RANGE: Starting at $55,000, commensurate to experience & qualifications

REPORTS TO: Executive Director & COO

EDUCATION: Post-secondary degree, certificate, or equivalent experience in the marketing and communications field

TECHNICAL: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media tools and platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, Basic HTML/CSS, content creation experience with video filming/editing, photography, and copy writing an asset LOCATION: Office based on the WLU Waterloo campus with multi-campus portfolio; weekly travel to Brantford campus required (vehicle not required)
